Introducing the Shine Bright Display Team ✨

We’re so excited to introduce something new to Shine Bright Gymnastics this September: the Shine Bright Display Team!

We’ve created this programme for gymnasts who love the creative, exciting and performing side of rhythmic gymnastics and want to take their experience a step further.

The Display Team will give gymnasts the opportunity to learn group routines, perform together, build confidence and represent Shine Bright at events beyond their regular classes.

Most importantly, it’s about having fun, creating something together and becoming part of a team 💕

🌟 What is the Display Team?

The Display Team is a performance-focused group for gymnasts aged 6+.

Gymnasts will work together to learn creative routines combining rhythmic gymnastics, movement, music and performance. Routines and apparatus may vary throughout the year, keeping things fresh and exciting.

The team may perform at Shine Bright events, selected competitions and community events.

And if your gymnast also enjoys individual competition, she can still take part in individual competition events where eligible. The two experiences can work alongside each other.

💕 Who is it for?

The Display Team is for Shine Bright members aged 6+ who:

🌟 Love performing and being creative

🤝 Enjoy working as part of a team

💕 Are enthusiastic and willing to learn

👂 Can listen and follow instructions

🔄 Are prepared to practise and repeat routines

📅 Can commit to regular attendance

💪 Want to build confidence and challenge themselves

You don’t need to be our most advanced gymnast. Attitude, enthusiasm and commitment are just as important as gymnastics ability.

There will be a trial/audition before the team launches, where we’ll look not only at gymnastics skills but also at how gymnasts approach the session, work with others and respond to learning something new.

Important: this is an add-on programme

The Display Team is not a stand-alone class.

Gymnasts must already be enrolled in at least one other regular Shine Bright class to join.

🗓️ When is it?

Saturdays | 12:30–2:00pm

Because the team will be learning group routines and preparing for performances, commitment and attendance are really important.

We expect approximately 90% attendance throughout the term.

We completely understand that children get ill and that families sometimes have unavoidable commitments. However, regular attendance is essential because when one gymnast misses a session, it can affect the whole team’s progress.

🎭 What will they learn?

Alongside their usual gymnastics training, Display Team sessions will focus on:

• Group choreography and learning routines together

• Performance skills, including expression, musicality and presentation

• Teamwork and moving confidently as a group

• Creativity through music, movement and different apparatus

• Confidence and performing in front of an audience

It’s a chance to develop skills that aren’t always the main focus of a regular gymnastics class.

🏆 Is it a competition team?

No it's not. Display Team might be performing at competitions, but only as a show - not to be judged by the panel.

The main focus is performance rather than competition results.

Think of it as another way to experience gymnastics:

Display Team: Performance • Creativity • Teamwork • Confidence ✨

Squad: Competition • Individual routines • Progression • Results 🏆

Neither is better than the other. They simply offer different experiences, and some gymnasts may enjoy both!

👯 How many places are there?

We want to keep our first Display Team small enough for everyone to get plenty of attention and for us to create strong group routines.

Minimum: 8 gymnasts

Maximum: 14 gymnasts

We’ll launch the team once we have enough committed gymnasts to create a proper group.

💷 How much does it cost?

The Display Team is an additional programme alongside your gymnast’s regular Shine Bright class.

£60 per 4-week billing period

This covers the weekly 1.5-hour Display Team session.

Gymnasts must remain enrolled in at least one other regular Shine Bright class.

🎀 What about performances and costumes?

We’re still developing the programme, so we don’t have specific performance dates confirmed yet.

Our aim is to create opportunities for the team to perform throughout the year at Shine Bright events, selected competitions and community events.

We’ll give parents plenty of notice about performances, costumes and any additional requirements as these are confirmed.

And yes… we’re already excited about making the Display Team feel like a proper Shine Bright team, with its own identity and a few sparkly details along the way! ✨

We want it to be more than another Saturday class. We want the girls to build friendships, learn something together, overcome challenges, perform with confidence and feel proud of being part of their team.
